Commercialisation, engineered from the inside.

Hatch works with researchers, founders, SMEs and university teams across the UK and US to turn deep tech into commercially viable businesses. Not as consultants who deliver a report and disappear. As an embedded partner that brings engineering and commercialisation strategy into the same room from the first conversation, because in deep tech those decisions are never separate problems.

Our Mission

The hardest part of building a deep tech venture is not the science. It is knowing which decisions to make, when to make them, and having the evidence to support them. Most people giving that advice have never built a company themselves. Lesley and Chris have. From founding and exiting a transatlantic deep tech company in two years to running live engineering programmes for researchers, founders, SMEs and university teams across the UK and US. Hatch exists because great technology deserves people in the room who have actually done it, not just advised on it.

Chris Gregory

Chris Gregory

Co-Founder

Chris leads the engineering work at Hatch. A hands-on engineer and natural builder of teams, he is equally at home solving the technical problem himself or pulling together specialists, sub-contractors and in-house engineers into a programme that delivers. Quietly rigorous and relentlessly practical, he is the person to call when engineering depth and delivery both have to hold.

MESSAGE FROM FOUNDERS

We started Hatch because we love this work. We love entrepreneurs, the restlessness, the conviction, the willingness to take a technical idea and make it somebody's problem to buy. Between us we have more than thirty years in engineering across clean energy, advanced materials, robotics in the nuclear industry, motorsport, and industrial manufacturing delivered inside startups, scale-ups, and established industrials on both sides of the Atlantic.

Every great project starts with a conversation

If you are not sure where to start that is exactly what the first conversation is for. No pitch, no pressure just a conversation.
